Ahh, Mr Ben. The clock is not actually really called Big Ben, it's really just the bell. The bell is named after the architect or guy who oversaw it and whose slightly rotund shape gave him the name Big Ben. So the bell was called after him. But everyone just calls the whole clock Big Ben and I can't remember what it's real name is, I think it's pretty boring though.
